I just spent about an hour and a half switching from chatting in Keno, typing up my school work assignments, and reading Mon wars. And JJfcrock from Keno made a comment that made me want to rant all over. . . so I did all over again. . . the short version of the rant I gave Lily earlier. . . Ugh. o.O;;
Warning: A sorta lengthy Christian school assignment ahead so please, if you don't like Christianity, or school stuff, don't read. I'm just posting this cause I thought it was interesting. . . and I'm tired.
The Changing of the Guard, two page summary for chapter 1
King Nebuchadnezzar was a great king who believed he was more than just a man. Because of this, God humbled him and he was sent away from all humans. When God ceased and the king returned to normal, he repented and returned to Babylon as king. God rules everything. Christian political action proves our obedience to Him and His Law, which brings blessings and curses upon those who follow it or don't. Politics are supposed to be placed openly and publicly under God. The administration of the theocracy is taken care of by Jesus Christ, who holds up all things by His Word of power.
Christ bears the ensigns of theocracy: the crown of glory; sword of truth; scepter of righteousness; crest of promise; name of prerogativeness; and a little deed of absoluteness. Because of how we act, the world is in shambles. It's unknown if we'll change. The founders of America knew and accepted the theocracy. Though they were different religious followers, they all basically agreed that God rules all.
Now that God is not foremost in our nation, it has demised greatly. Despotism is taking away our freedom. If we had continued believing, none of this would have happened. Abortion and pornography now filters through many lives, declining morals even more.
What many people do not believe is that God rules now. Theocracy is already happening. It's happened since the beginning of time and will continue till the end. Christian political action is admitting to the above facts. We must admit Who is King before our nation and lives decline morally even more. Nebuchadnezzar learned the hard way and his nation was returned to him, thanks to God. America was created on an acceptance and understanding of God's rule and must return to that state for true happiness and peace to resume, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and William Penn were just a few of our forefathers who accepted God's ruling. The most who did accept it continued on to be the first few presidents of America under the new constitution or very influential in America's beginning. Each structured their political thinking by the rule of Christ. American political life is independant upon it whether everyone believes or not.
New schools and churches are sanctioned and government functions act as if they are sovereignly messianic. Thus us Christians have our work cut out for us.
The Changing of the Guard, two page summary on chapter 2
We are supposed to give all things to God and to recognize His theocracy. God ordains the government and, though the magistrates have the authority, they are under authority, God's authority. All people who have authority represents God's rule and thus his wishes must be followed but he must obey God like the people have to obey him. Pharisees and Herodians wanted to separate the two different authorities. God made the institution of the family as a group of authority. They have cultural, educational, disciplinary, economic, civic, spiritual, evangelistic and charitable authority. There is also the institutional of the Church. It was given judicial, spiritual, liturgical, charitable, discipling, evangelistical, diaconal, disciplinary, cultural and sacramental authority. However with all this authority, both institutions are still under God's rule.
The state also has been given different authorities and such by God. Joseph and Gideon were both called into politics to govern and save their people. Deborah, Samuel and David were called into the ministry as well. Josiah and Nehemiah were also called into it and both rid their lands of much evil. Daniel was also called into it.
The Pharisees and Herodians were wildly different but they started working together against Jesus. They still survive to this day, opposing the Gospel. Only because of how we've isolated and cut ourselves from things have the Herodians/secular humanist been able to control so much. No matter how much they try to separate God and government, it'll never happen because God has authority over it and will never release that. The Pharisees thought politics would hurt religion and the Herodians thought religion would hurt politics.
